DAILY BREAD…Armed With Courage

Blessings to you TODAY!

James 1:6 “But let him ask IN FAITH! With NO doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.”

When entering into prayer…we must come filled with FAITH and armed with COURAGE!  Successful prayer must be one without condition. We must BELIEVE that God IS LOVE!  And that being love, He CANNOT harm us, but MUST ever do us GOOD!

We must throw ourselves before Him and pray with BOLDNESS for WHATEVER is for our good and His glory require…For whatever He IN His love and wisdom would assess against us…we will accept with delight because it pleased Him!  Prayers like that CANNOT go unanswered.  The character and reputation of God guarantee their fulfillment!

We should always keep in mind the INFINITE Loving Kindness of GOD!

NO ONE need fear to put his life IN His hands...His yoke is easy; His burden is light…”   Tozer

Prayer:  Father God continue to Increase my faith….Increase my courage IN prayer…decrease my doubt…and Thank You that Your are ONLY LOVE…and delight to do GOOD in my life!   Amen

DAILY BREAD…BE Still...

Blessings to you TODAY!

“God is having a difficult time getting through to us because we are a fast-paced generation.  We seem to have NO time for contemplation...We have no time to answer God WHEN He calls.” Jesus, Author of our Faith

Psalm 46:10   “Be STILL, and know that I AM GOD... I WILL be Exalted among the nations…I WILL be exalted in the earth!”

Psalm 62:5   “For God ALONE…O my soul…WAIT in SILENCE…for my HOPE IS from Him…”

Prayer:   "Bless You Lord…that You convict me about this need for TIME to think…the need for solitude and SILENCE.   Please continue to make this increasingly possible for me…encourage my brothers and sisters IN Christ…who have not discovered the VALUE of this “slowing down.” Amen

DAILY BREAD…The Armor of God!

Blessings to you TODAY!

Our most CRITICAL "helmet" (whether we realize it or not) is the one that IS absolutely essential for the combat…we ARE presently engaged in! It is the helmet designed by God: Ephesians 6:10-17: The Armor of God!

"Finally, BE Strong IN the Lord and in His mighty power…Put ON the full armor of God…so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put ON the FULL Armor of God…so that WHEN the day of evil comes…you may be able to stand your ground...

Stand Firm….with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of PEACE.

Take UP the SHEILD of Faith…with which you can extinguish ALL the flaming arrows of the evil one.

TAKE the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which IS the Word of God…"

“God provides the “helmet” to protect our minds. When the enemy tries to infiltrate our thinking with doubts about our salvation, the helmet becomes our protection. You ARE God’s own child...He Himself redeemed you from slavery. He does NOT want the enemy to overcome you... You ARE secure in your relationship with GOD! The Power WITHIN you IS greater than the power in your enemy. Give NO place to doubt. Take your STAND for God…IN confidence…wearing you helmet of salvation.”

PRAYER: Father God…Today I put on the helmet of salvation…so Satan will NOT have a stronghold on my thoughts…Lord…today I rejoice IN my salvation and ask You to help me keep my mind focused on You!  Amen

DAILY BREAD…The Holy transformation...as believers IN Christ…

Blessings to you TODAY!

David writes in Psalm 51:10:  “Create a clean heart in me, O God, and renew a faithful spirit within me…”

The word "create" is very important. It means ‘make’ … but ONLY if GOD is the maker!

The Bible starts by saying "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Gen 1:1).  Only God could do it!  And only God can make a new heart for a person. A new heart really means a new person altogether.

Paul wrote in his Second Letter to the Corinthians: "If anyone is IN Christ he or she is a NEW person" (2 Cor 5:17). "In Christ" means "a Christian".  "New person"…is a person that God has created again…or "a new creature".

David wrote Psalm 51 a thousand years before Paul wrote Corinthians.  Christians understand what David wrote after reading what Paul wrote…We do not read it as Jews, but as Christians.  We are "born again" or "new people" because GOD has created them AGAIN…when they become Christians!

The "spirit" in verses 10-12…means the “Holy Spirit”, another name for GOD. It is the part of GOD…that He puts IN uswhen we become Christians…and THIS IS the beginning of our “Holy Transformation!”  Amen!

2 Corinthians 3:18(NLT) “So all of us who have had that veil removed…can see and reflect the glory of the Lord!  And the Lord…who is the Spirit…makes us more and more LIKE Him…as we are changed into his glorious image!

Colossians 2:9 For IN Christ…lives ALL the fullness of GOD…IN a human body

Prayer:  Father God…I receive your word today in Psalm 51:10-12:

Create a clean heart IN me…O God…and RENEW a faithful spirit within me…”

I thank you that Your Word promises me that as I have received Jesus…Your son…who died for me on the cross…as my Lord and Savior...I can be renewed!  Become a NEW person…Born again…IN your eyes!  I thank you…that IN you…I will receive a NEW life today and into Eternity!  Lord Jesus…in quietness…and confident trust…I receive this promise…and thank you…as you WILL do a new thing IN me!  And the Lord GOD…who IS the Spirit…will make me more LIKE Him…as I am changed into his glorious image from this day forward!  Amen

DAILY BREAD…

Blessings to you TODAY!

The Holy transformation...as believers IN Christ…

Philippians 1:6  “And I am CERTAIN…that GOD, who BEGAN the good work within you…WILL continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

“Being confident”

Paul was certain that the God who launched a good work in the Philippians WOULD continue it. When God begins the work of salvation IN us...He will finish it!  God never starts anything that He cannot finish...when God begins a work IN us…He WILL see it through to completion! Amen

God will either work IN us or He will work ON us, but He WILL finish the job. Paul’s confidence was IN the capacity of GOD!  NOT in men.

Many people are bedeviled by the idea that God may lose control of their situation. But God will NOT give up on us. He will let us go about as far as a dog on a leash. When we run from the Lord and come to the end of our leash…we come to a terrible jerk.  Praise the Lord…“The Lord WILL perfect that which concerns me” (Psalm 138:8).

Prayer:  Father GOD…Today I receive your word in Philippians 1:6…that I may have the FULL Confidence IN Christ’s present work IN me today…

I can trust IN Jesus…to intercede for whatever trials I face…Lord God, I PRAISE your name…that you love and care for me to NEVER take your eyes off me…as your word says… “I am engraved upon your hands”…AMEN!  Help me to just be real with you….say it like it is and be authentic and honest about the trials in front of me…fill me with your Holy Peace, Patience, and deep Rest…as you do a work IN my life and bring it to Completion!  Amen   (Isaiah 49:15-18)

DAILY BREAD…Confidence IN Him…

Blessings to you TODAY!

Confidence IN Him…

Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

If you are in trouble and concerned about your situation and willing to be honest with God…you CAN have CONFIDENCE IN Him!

You can go to Him IN the Merit of His Son JESUS, CLAIMING His Promises…and He will NOT let you down. God WILL help you…and you WILL find the way of deliverance. God will move heaven and earth for you…if you will TRUST Him.

Prayer: "Thank You, Father, for the majesty of this truth in Your Word…It certainly is ONLY IN the merit of YOUR SON JESUS…and IN that merit, You have given us a Powerful Promise! I receive Your word in Hebrews 4:16 today...I Thank You that You NEVER let us down. Amen."

DAILY BREAD…What profit is there in prayer?

Blessings to you TODAY!

“What profit is there in prayer?  MUCH…IN every way!... Whatever God CAN do…FAITH CAN do…and whatever faith can do…PRAYER CAN DO…when it is offered IN FAITH!

An invitation to prayer is, therefore, an invitation to omnipotence…for prayer engages the Omnipotent God and brings HIM…INTO our human affairs.   NOTHING is impossible to the man who prays IN FAITH…just as NOTHING is impossible with God!”    A.W.Tozer…The Set of the Sail

Ephesians 6:18  And pray IN the Spirit on ALL occasions with ALL kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Blessings to you TODAY!

The Holy transformation...as believers IN Christ…

Ephesians 1:18:  “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may KNOW the Hope to which HE has called you…the Riches of HIS Glorious inheritance…IN His holy people…”

The phrase "eyes of your heart" is a metaphor referring to the ability to perceive with the mind. Just as we can't see with our physical eyes if we have them closed, so none of us can see with our understanding if our minds are closed. We have to have our understanding opened by the Lord to perceive spiritual truth!

Wisdom and revelation can only be received as the eyes of our hearts are enlightened. Our way of thinking has to be illuminated in order to come to a more accurate and thorough knowledge of God.  In fact, spiritual mindedness is the ONLY way to true life and peace (Ro 8:5-6 and Isa 26:3), and the renewing of the mind IS the way to knowing the PERFECT will of God (Ro 12:2).

The end result of this wisdom and revelation from GOD…is that we WILL know "the hope of His calling,"… "the riches of the glory of His inheritance,"…and "the exceeding greatness of His power toward us."

WITHOUT A Revelation from God…no one can realize these blessings.

Prayer:  “Father God I receive your word in Ephesians 1:18:  I pray that the eyes of my heart may be enlightened in order that I may KNOW the Hope to which You have called me…I want to know the Riches of Your Glorious inheritance…and be IN Your Holy family…IN Jesus Name I pray today…Amen.”

DAILY BREAD…

Blessings to you TODAY!

Praying for the athletes brutally attacked in the Boston marathon yesterday…

“the thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy”  But Jesus CAME for this VERY MOMENT…HE is our Comforter…our Healer…our Sheppard…to guide us through unsettled times….We can embrace HIM….as HE came for us “so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of…”  Let us cling to our Lord and Savior!  Amen

John 10:10 (MSG) Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them…

But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I AM THE Gate!  Anyone who goes through me WILL BE cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture.  A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I CAME SO they CAN have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of…”

DAILY BREAD…The Holy Transformation...as believers IN Christ…

Blessings to you TODAY!

Ezekiel 36:26 ESV

“And I will GIVE you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh…and give you a heart of flesh.”

This verse in the bible foretells of a NEW heart — A new frame of soul, a mind changed, from sinful to holy, from carnal to spiritual.  And a NEW spirit — A new, holy frame in the spirit of man; which is GIVEN to him, NOT by his own power.

Ezekiel's prophecy (likely written between 593 and 565 B.C) speaks of the New Covenant IN Christ!  The new man…is the New Covenant man!  (Jeremiah 31:33)   “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord.  I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts.  I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

SO what exactly makes the new man new?  Two things: his NEW heart and the NEW spirit within him…God's Holy Spirit…which enables him to walk in God's ways.  Ezekiel's reference to "a new heart" also parallels Paul's command for a renewed mind in Ephesians 4:24. (RSV) “and put on the NEW nature, created after the likeness of God…IN true righteousness and holiness.”

DAILY BREAD…The Holy Transformation...as believers IN Christ…

Blessings to you TODAY!

Romans 10:17 “FAITH comes from hearing the message, and THE message is heard through THE Word…about CHRIST.”

I just LOVE this verse…It says EVERYTHING about why I am SO passionate about the daily devotionals!  The Word of GOD IS ALIVE…and it has the POWER to transform us, heal us, and bring us CLOSER to our maker each day….BUILDING our Faith!

The next several weeks I will be focusing on verses in the Bible about the Holy transformation...as believers IN Christ…

LOVE your feedback as always! Blessings to you on your journey with Christ! Amen

"The more we let God take us over, the more truly ourselves we become — because He made us. He invented all the different people that you and I were intended to be. It is when I turn to Christ, when I give up myself to His personality, that I first begin to have a real personality of my own." C. S. Lewis

The Holy Transformation...as believers IN Christ…

2 Corinthians 5:17   Therefore, if anyone is IN Christ, the NEW creation has come! The old has gone, the new is here!

This bible verse encourages believers about their identity IN Christ, and speaks to the reconciliation that GOD has made with mankind.

Christ's kingdom IS spiritual…the transformation/change must take place chiefly in the Spirit.  IN Christ…God's people…have been cut off from their old former state of being…and are now given a new FRESH spiritual vibrancy, as they have become citizens of the future government of Jesus!

The One Volume Bible Commentary gives a paraphrase of verse 17, saying, “Whoever then knows Christ IN this higher way is indeed a NEW man!  He looks on life from a higher point of view. His ideals and aspirations have been transformed.”

As Christians, we can become discouraged and feel like hopeless miserable sinners, frequently tempted to do what is wrong.  BUT…God's desire for His people is to see themselves as FREE from the bondages of darkness!  And to experience the VICTORY that Jesus has over SIN and death!  SO, IN CHRIST…we ARE liberated from our past weaknesses…and can find NEW STRENGTH…that is now in our NEW identity IN Jesus Christ!  Amen.

Prayer:  Father GOD…I thank you for your Son JESUS…Today, I receive your Word in 2 Corinthians 5:17   “Therefore, if anyone is IN Christ, the NEW creation has come! The old has gone, and the new is here!”    Jesus cleanse me…continue to do a work IN me and renew my Spirit, freeing me from my past, liberating me over my weaknesses, and give me NEW Holy Strength…IN my new identity IN You…Amen

DAILY BREAD…

Blessings to you TODAY!

Jesus gives his disciples (and us) six reasons for trusting in God rather than worrying….

Day Six…MATTHEW 6:34(MSG)  “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”

Jesus points out that one has enough to worry about for the day…without adding tomorrow's worries.  Yet when Jesus forbids us to worry about tomorrow…this does NOT mean that concerns will never press upon us…It means instead that we should express DEPENDENCE on God…IN EACH of these concerns.

We SHOULD pray for our genuine needs…provided we pray for God's Kingdom MOST of ALL! When we worry about tomorrow…we miss out on Today! Any problem we face CAN be handled…WITH God's help...ONE DAY at a time.

The next time you're under pressure, pray for the GRACE you need to depend on GOD!  Who IS Perfectly and Eternally Worthy of your trust!  Amen

DAILY BREAD…

Blessings to you TODAY!

Jesus gives his disciples (and us) six reasons for trusting in God rather than worrying….

Day Five…MATTHEW 6:31-33  “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?  These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

God's children should seek instead God's agendas…assured that God will also care for them in the process.   Even in Jesus' model prayer, disciples seek God's kingdom first!

Faith is not an intricate ritual to get what we want for ourselves; FAITH is obeying God's will with the assurance that HE WILL ultimately fulfill for us what is in our best interests. That kind of faith grows ONLY in the context of an intimate relationship of love between the heavenly Father and his children.

Some people today associate faith with being able to obtain possessions from God, but Jesus did not even associate it with seeking basic needs from God.  Pagans seek those things, he warned…we should seek instead GOD’S Kingdom and HIS RIGHTEOUS Will.

Let us consider…When his people care for OTHERS IN need among them, that God supplies the needs of his people as a whole, perhaps because then He can best trust them to use his gifts righteously…

We ARE God's children!!!  God will NEVER treat us as orphans who need to fend for themselves.   Trust ONLY IN Him…Amen!

DAILY BREAD…

Blessings to you TODAY!

Jesus gives his disciples (and us) six reasons for trusting in God rather than worrying….

Day Four…MATTHEW 6:28-30   “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all His splendor was dressed like one of these.   If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?”

Jesus draws a lesson from God's care for birds and flowers (Mt 6:26, 30).   The God who cares for unemployed animals will care still MORE for his children, regardless of their economic situation.  He then goes on to assure us that God will supply covering for our bodies, pointing to the splendor of the fields, whose vegetation is nevertheless used as fuel for baking bread. Solomon's splendor had become proverbial, but it remained minuscule compared to the splendor of God's creation.  In the end, wealth does not matter, but God will supply what we genuinely need.

Worry ignores God's demonstrated faithfulness in our lives (vv. 28–30). The same God who so wonderfully clothes the flowers of the field is responsible to care for them. Every blossoming flower is a reminder of God's faithfulness to us!  Amen!

DAILY BREAD…

Blessings to you TODAY!

Jesus gives his disciples (and us) six reasons for trusting in God rather than worrying….

Day Three…MATTHEW 6:26  "Look at the birds…They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?”

Worry expends energy pointlessly—it DOES NOT change the reality of the situation a single bit.

Anxiety does no good. Jesus highlights this theme in Matthew 6:26, 34. Anxiety will not add even the smallest unit of time to one's life. Not only is it true that we cannot extend our life by worrying, but daily experience in our comparatively fast-paced culture confirms the wisdom of an earlier Jewish sage, who observed that worry and a troubled heart actually shorten life!

Unlike some ancient philosophers, Jesus never condemns people for recognizing their basic needs; their Father knows they need food and clothing. Yet he calls them to depend on God for their daily sustenance. Those who can trust their heavenly Father to care for them need not be anxious concerning clothes or food.
