Daily Bread..."Confidence That What We Hope For Will Actually Happen…"

Hebrews 11: "Faith IS the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen…"

The author is not discussing faith in general, but faith IN God...

Hebrews 11:1;3  Faith IS the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen…it gives us assurance about things we cannot see…. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command…that what we now see…did not come from anything that can be seen.

Commentary:  “Faith is believing there is another dimension to life other than those which can be touched, tasted, seen or felt. There is more to life than that. There is also the realm of the spirit, the invisible spiritual kingdom of God. All the ultimate answers of life lie in that kingdom.  Faith believes that God, in his grace, has stepped over the boundary into human history and told us some great and very valuable facts. Faith believes them and adjusts its life to those facts and walks on that basis.”

Let us draw near to Him…“For whoever would draw near to God must believe that HE exists…and that HE rewards those who seek Him... "(Hebrews 11:6 RSV)

Prayer:  Lord God…grant us the simple faith of a child…by which we can trust your love, trust your word, and believe you have told us the truth!  Teach us to live according to it, coming to know Jesus Christ our living Lord, by whom life can be changed…and ALL that we hope for may be realized!  In difficulties, through trials, through heartache and tears, may we win the day, arrive at the goal…and be what we long to be…IN Him…In Jesus Name we pray…Amen.

 “The Day of Atonement was Israel’s most solemn holy day. On that day, God made a way for his sinful people to set things right with Him, the Holy One of Israel. But like the scapegoat that kept looking back, sin and guilt always returned. Year after year, goat after goat, the ritual was repeated: One goat slaughtered to atone for sin, the other sent far into the wilderness to remove the presence of guilt. But it wasn’t enough. It merely symbolized what was to come….

When Jesus died on the cross and was banished to the tomb, HE fulfilled the requirement for the two goats on the Day of Atonement. His sacrificial death on the cross atoned for our sin...finally making us one with God for ALL time...His journey to death removed our guilt for all time. He took our sins with him to the pit of hell, just as the scapegoat was banished into the solitary wasteland. It was a high price to pay. The scapegoat didn’t have a choice, but Jesus did. The Book of Isaiah is called "The Book of Salvation." The name Isaiah means "the salvation of the Lord" or "the Lord IS Salvation."  Written between (circa) 740-680 B.C., toward the end of the reign of King Uzziah and throughout the reigns of King Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah.   Although Isaiah's words were written primarily to the nation of Judah and the people of Jerusalem, the message today…IS GOOD news for ALL believers IN Christ…YES…We have ALL gone astray…it is pure human nature…BUT there IS a Savior…and His Name is Jesus Christ!  The day WILL come…when ALL will recognize His Dominion…

Isaiah 53:5-6 “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us PEACE was on HIM, and by his wounds we are healed...We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way…and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”

An encouraging word….as we encourage one another with scripture and prayer…we Glorify the Lord!  Our words…lift the spirit and give the HOPE to press on…

As we see the Lord work fruitfully in another’s circumstance…the believers “give thanks” to the Lord…and the Lord is glorified!  With each trial…we have this gift to grow into our faith…feeling more confident and stronger in adversity…

As we continue to share the HOPE and the GOOD NEWS In Christ…another receives the gift…to lift the spirit…and he or she finds the HOPE to PRESS ON! 

The GRACE circle continues as we “give thanks” for who and what the Lord does for us on our behalf…His Love NEVER fails…He is ALWAYS for US…He NEVER leaves our side…And He continues to allow us trials to GROW In our faith…so that we might GROW the BODY of CHRIST to HIS coming day! 

Lets us never take lightly the opportunity to share HIS love with another…a kind word…comforting scripture…prayer…we not only are getting the gift of personal transformation, but we GROW the BODY of CHRIST! 

This IS our calling as believers in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Your words go MUCH farther into the KINGDOM than you can possibly know!  Praise be to the Lord....we have been Empowered with the spirit of GOD!  Amen!

Trying to control or manipulate the situation doesn’t often work…

Worrying through every possible scenario doesn’t work either...

So, how can you combat fear? When God tells us not to be afraid, He reminds us that HE IS with us...We have nothing to fear because God IS with us. And He is MORE powerful than our circumstances or enemies!

During the most stressful situation…HE IS still on His throne...and HIS LOVE and comfort are MORE abundant than our pain or anxiety... So do not be afraid—God IS near.” AMEN!

Haggai 2:5 “This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear!”
