2017….As I sit here on this warm summer day in Montana…I reflect on a post I
wrote back in the beginning of this spring on the lovely Oregon coast…Winter
was ceasing...and spring was subtly calling…the winter season was about to turn
to Spring.
Yesterday my
husband said he saw a wild turkey in the backyard…the first time for us to see
this in our new home in Montana !
And I thought to myself…this was a sign that fall is just around the
corner. Soon there will be families of
turkeys roaming through the yard eating and preparing for winter to return…a
new season.
Each year we
can expect the coming of a new season…they seem to have a familiar scent…subtle
feelings and even old memories…as a new season faithfully arrives each year…
The seasons
draw a full circle….of growth…harvest…and rest…reliably to begin again in the
next year…
I love this
circle as a gardener…and I am reminded that our own days upon this earth are
much the same...
Unlike the
calendar seasons…our own personal seasons have their own timeline…as we all
know…sometimes lasting much longer in one season over another.
The Bible
tells us that God gave us the 4 seasons of the year…
Given for our
pleasure to enjoy….and also designed as a reminder to man of who He/God
is...and that He and ONLY He is God…who created the heavens and the earth with
those amazing colorful seasons!
Look at some
of these bible verses about the seasons…and these are just a few….
Ecclesiastes
3:1-22
For everything there is a season, and a
time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a
time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a
time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and
a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away
stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to
refrain from embracing; ...
Daniel
2:21
He changes times and seasons; he
removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to
those who have understanding;
Genesis
8:22
While the earth remains, seedtime and
harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”
Galatians
6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing
good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Acts
1:7
He said to them, “It is not for you to
know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.
Psalm
104:19
He made the moon to mark the seasons;
the sun knows its time for setting.
Psalm
1:3
He is like a tree planted by streams of
water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all
that he does, he prospers.
Genesis
1:14
And God said, “Let there be lights in
the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be
for signs and for seasons, and for days and years,
These verses
clearly state there will be regular physical changes upon this earth…called
seasons…but the under lying message is about the spiritual nature of a man…He
WILL go through personal seasons in His life…that will include…Joy…Strife…Sorrow…and
Re birth…
The thing is…ALL
mankind will go through these seasons no matter his belief in GOD or not…
The message
however is…NOT good luck with that…but that I AM with you always…
If a Man
invites Him…
Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice
and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
I read a devotion this am that said “You can trust the man that died for you…you can trust HIM to thwart each plan that should be stopped and to complete each one that results in His greatest Glory and YOUR highest good…You can trust HIM to lead you down the path that is the very best in this world for you…”
And this is the walk of the human man who chooses to Trust
this Promise…Not that life will be easy…but that there is divine guidance ready
and waiting for you to say…YES…I will trust IN this man who died for me…to
guide…protect…and most importantly to unconditionally LOVE and keep me by His
side…FOREVER…
This is an amazing promise and it is utterly FREE…
“Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand” Psalm 73:23.
Take a hold of today and know…this too shall pass…this
time IS a season…and it will not last…change is inevitable like the physical
seasons of the calendar...
“Wait for the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take
courage. Yes, wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14
“You can trust the Man that died for you…”
