Jesus said…“When
I was with you before…I told you that everything written about me in the Law of
Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Luke 24:44
Our Lord was
confirming that the past horrific days before his resurrection…His past months
of his ministry…the past years of history recorded in Moses and the
prophets….as completed…fulfilling every detail, as it was written “for the
forgiveness of sins for all who repent…” mankind reconciled with God…The
Father.
How long it
took to fulfill this master plan…from the moment sin entered the world in the
Garden of Eden…to this day our Lord Jesus makes this statement…Each day and
event purposeful…even in a world dominated by sin….there was a plan for our
redemption.
It is clear
from the beginning…sin blinds mankind.
The beloved Israel consistently wanders…forgetting
previous generations that saw Gods faithfulness and forgetting their “first
love…” (Rev 2:4) Yet in this human flaw…weakness to sin…and in
Gods plan….the Gentiles are lovingly folded into His plan for salvation (Ephesians 3:6)…part of the plan…and
someday His beloved…the Israelites eyes will be opened and return to their 1st
love…Isaiah 49:15 God is Faithful….
God knows our
human weakness and uses it to bring more into the fold…In our weakness, He
begins to shape His children…to become children of light, even as we fall weak
to our flesh and temptations…and we too forget our first love…
After the
crucifixion of Jesus, in only a few short hours…doubt creeps in…
Jesus had preached
a promise of return, a master God plan fulfilled…the promised resurrection
after death…and it is quickly forgotten…replaced with doubt, worry, fear, and
disappointment.
Luke 24:21
“We had hoped
he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel . This all
happened three days ago.”
It is the
natural lean of mankind in moments of desperation…forgetting that each day GOD
has a purpose…and the story is NOT yet finished. Jesus assures us of this truth…in HIS FIRST words…post resurrection... PEACE….be with YOU! (Luke
24:36)
In His
sacrifice…and In Jesus…we can have PEACE…as we trust IN Him and in Gods plan to
bring His Master plan to fulfillment “starting
that day in Jerusalem …”
Luke 24:46-47
“And Jesus said, “Yes, it was written long
ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third
day. It was also written that this message
would be proclaimed in the authority of His name to ALL the nations…beginning in Jerusalem …‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.”
As Israel waits for their King…God waited for
the day to redeem mankind…each day planned, purposeful, and perfect for the
fulfillment of the scriptures…
So as it is today…From
the Garden of Eden…to the Day Christ was crucified….to that “Day” when our
Lords returns…descending from Heaven with a shout!…(1 Thessalonians 4:16-18) Each
day must happen as it is written…each day littered with sin…but with a promise
of redemption…for a time where there will be no more sin…no more tears…no more
death…(REV 21:4) all passed away…to a NEW place and time where we will see
and worship with the Lord forever!
Amen
Prayer:
“Father God…your words tell us to ‘Keep watch and pray, so that we will not
give in to temptation...For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!’ (Matthew
26:41) You know this
about us…In Jesus name…inspire us to pray always…and to find confidence IN
you…that in each day…you LOVE us unconditionally despite our flaws…Father Thank
You…as promised…You will be our Savior…as each day is written…We hold steadfast
to your words of Truth for Peace…and redemption…until your Grand return to
claim your children and bring them home to an eternity in Heaven with you…In
your Glorious Name I pray…" Amen
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
”For the Lord himself
will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their
graves. Then, together with them,
we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other
with these words.”
